Fujitsu and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have signed a strategic global collaboration agreement to accelerate their efforts in helping customers transform their businesses.
Fujitsu and AWS Sign Strategic Collaboration Agreement
In November 2024, Fujitsu announced the expansion of its strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This expansion aims to accelerate customers' digital transformation and drive business innovation, building upon the existing strategic collaboration already in place across the automotive, finance, and retail sectors, extending it to a broader range of industries.
Many companies worldwide struggle with legacy systems, hindering effective data utilization. These legacy systems, built independently for each business function, create data silos, making data integration and utilization challenging even with the adoption of new technologies. The collaboration combines Fujitsu's extensive systems integration expertise with AWS's cloud services to help customers overcome these challenges and achieve business transformation. Fujitsu Uvance, a key initiative, aims to break down these legacy system barriers, foster customer growth, and address social issues. By connecting fragmented processes and data across industries, Fujitsu Uvance strives to deliver unprecedented solutions and insights.
Creating New Value Through AI-Powered Collaboration
This collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies. Fujitsu provides cross-industry integration technology and system operation expertise, while AWS offers technical support and facilitates the use of cutting-edge services such as generative AI (Amazon Bedrock). By integrating Fujitsu IP with AWS Cloud Services, this partnership aims to create significant new value.
One key initiative involves developing Fujitsu's Digital Shifts manufacturing platform and Fujitsu Kozuchi AI service leveraging AWS's Amazon Bedrock AI service. This integration enables AI-driven risk detection and proactive mitigation strategies. Furthermore, the conversion of past inspection reports into reusable structured data facilitates the preservation and sharing of valuable maintenance expertise. Additionally, with AWS’s skills training, Fujitsu aims to strengthen its delivery capabilities by increasing the number of Fujitsu engineers who have AWS certifications from approximately 7,000 to 12,000 over the next three years and double the number of customer deals to over 800 compared to the past 3-year SCA period, in Japan.
Achieving "Net Positive" Through Collaboration
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim for achievement by 2030. Fujitsu is committed to creating a sustainable world through the Fujitsu Uvance initiative. Fujitsu's vision is to become a technology company that achieves net-positive impact through digital services.
This collaboration with AWS is a crucial step towards realizing this vision. Moving away from legacy systems and strategically utilizing the cloud in partnership with AWS has significant societal implications. Building on the expanded collaboration with AWS across all industries, Fujitsu and AWS will expand their joint initiatives. By combining Fujitsu's long-standing technological expertise with its cross-industry know-how, this partnership will connect fragmented processes and data to deliver unprecedented solutions.
